Latest Book – Chasing the Catheter: or Medics & VIPs
The author recently spent some time as an inpatient at his local hospital. As someone with no sight at all he found the experience initially alarming, often frustrating, and an exercise in the isolation of being blind despite the best efforts of the staff.
As a consequence, on returning home he gave considerable thought as to how things could be better. This abridged backstory, along with the associated essential guidelines for staff working with people with severe sight impairment or blindness, was the result.
Designed as a simple training manual, along with the accompanying leaflet, it beautifully describes how that symbiotic relationship can be created.
As such it is hoped it will be of direct benefit for both patients and medics, and is dedicated to all those who took care of him.
